5 WAYS ON TO BE AN AGENT OF CHANGE

"Change is the only constant in life" -Heraclitus.

It is an act that allows us to move forward in life and experience new things.

Life can become stagnant when you don't actively work on developing yourself. But, on the other hand, being open to change, learning new skills, or working on your inner self can bring changes you never knew.

WHO IS AN AGENT?

An agent is a person or thing that takes an active role or produces a specified effect.

Therefore, an agent of change promotes and enables change within any group or organization by fighting and advocating fearlessly for things that matter to take place the right way for the good of all.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO BECOMING A CHANGE AGENT

Find your passion

What fuels your drive in Life? Is there a burning desire within you to do something that will help change your community or society and the world? When you discover your passion and goals towards achieving them, you automatically set yourself on the right path to being an agent of change or in whatever field you want to specialize in.

Identify a problem in your community and world.

Finding solutions to issues that have been lingering around for ages will cause a positive change and impact on the lives of people.

You will forever be remembered as an agent of change and, at the same time, feel fulfilled. For example, we have great inventors and world leaders who solved and are still solving problems like:

Alexander Graham Bell solved the problem of distant communication by inventing the telephone.

Thomas Edison created the light bulb,

As a result of Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook, we can connect with old friends regardless of distance.

Ben Carson and his medical team gave hope to the medical world that conjoined twins can be separated successfully,

Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Kwame Nkrumah, Jomo Kenyatta, Julius Nyerere, and so many others fought for the freedom of their people from oppression.

We can learn from these people to build ourselves to become better leaders and leave our footprints on the sands of time.

In a world where few are honest, you can decide to take a stand of innocence.

Be good and kind to people no matter how the world may try to downgrade integrity, and be wise in your doings.

Be faithful, loyal, and God-fearing. If we imbibe these attributes, the world will be better.

Encourage and empower people around you.

Tell them about the change you want to execute, give them reasons why it is needed, and make them see the vision and believe in it.

For those who do, you can work with them by setting up an NGO that aligns with your goals or organizing workshops, seminars, webinars, and conferences and partnering with people and organizations who do that too.

This way, you are empowering people, changing their mindsets about Life, and they will, in turn, change others in some form of a ripple effect.

Find role models and mentors.

They will help guide and build you on the path to fulfilling your purpose.

So many of them started the journey to success before you and have more experience than you, so they will be able to guide you on what to do to attain your goals in life.

Positive role models influence our actions and motivate us to strive to uncover our true potential and overcome our weaknesses.

Having them pushes us to make the most of our Life.

In conclusion, human beings can make a positive difference.

If we can decide to make ourselves available to be agents of change in our families, communities, world, and generations to come will forever feel your impact.

You will become a better leader.

So what are you waiting for?

The world awaits you!
